Which pet is right for you?

So, how does a family choose the “right” furry, finned or flying addition to their family?
Brenda Barnett, CEO of the Seattle Humane Society, stresses the importance of taking time to make a choice, and not carting off the first creature the family oohs and aaahs over.
“Parents need to set the right expectations with children. You may not find the right dog or cat the first time you go looking,” says Barnett, who has worked with animals for three decades. “You’re looking for a family member; you’re looking for a friend for life.”
