Pioneering nuns continue desert prayers despite threats from snakes, heat,m and fire

A group of nuns from Alabama have made a new home in Black Canyon City. The Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration not only moved to a new community, and started a fundraising campaign to build a monastery, but braved the intense Arizona sun, rattlesnakes — and wildfires.
" I don't think the devil wants them there." said Mary Jo West, spokesperson for the Diocese of Phoenix.
